Wine Tasting Hampshire - Welcome to Hampshire Wine School

A very warm welcome to Hampshire Wine School - an independent wine education company, not affiliated to any wine merchants or retailers. We run Wine Tastings, Beer Tastings and Wine Courses in Hampshire, Southampton, and Winchester for people who enjoy wine and would like to learn more about it. No previous wine or beer tasting experience is necessary.

Have you ever found yourself standing in the wine aisle, staring at the vast expanse of bottles in front of you, yet not really looking at anything at all? You desperately want to try something new, and want something more than to leave with anything other than that same old safe option you always end up buying. As you stare, you picture a different you, a wine-savvy you, strutting confidently down the wine aisle. Our aim is to make you a better shopper: to arm you with a little bit of knowledge, confidence and enthusiasm, which should help to take some of the guesswork out of buying wine.

During our Wine Tastings, you will learn about grape varieties, wine-producing countries, star producers, tips on how to taste wine and how to pair wine and food, in a relaxed and fun way. Become a better shopper, and you're well on your way to becoming the wine-savvy version of you.

What's reassuring about us is that we do not sell wine or beer - and are not affiliated to any wine merchants: which means we can source our wine wherever we please, from a wide selection of local merchants and national chains, to offer you impartial recommendations and advice. Our courses are for your enjoyment only. 

All our Wine Appreciation Courses and Wine Tasting evenings focus on enjoying wine and learning about it in a relaxed setting, with friendly people. Our sessions suit all levels of knowledge and experience, starting with our Saturday Introduction courses, a great way of immersing yourself in the subject through a leisurely tasting of 12 delicious wines (priced at £75; lunch and a glass of Champagne included!). Our 1-Evening Wine Tastings provide the opportunity to try a tasting with no previous experience (from only £22.50!). Its also a great way to meet people who share your passion for wine - do try one - we are sure you will enjoy it!

ABOUT OUR 8-WEEK COURSE: "I booked onto the 8-week course for my partner and I, as I thought it would be just a bit of fun. It has however completely revolutionised the way we buy, drink and experience wine.......and it was fun as well ! The 8-week course was informative, relaxed and exciting, and I would recommend anyone to do this great introduction to wine. Be warned, it will leave you wanting more....but that's fine, as there are plenty more different short-term courses to do, to add to your repertoire. About Our Wine Tutor

Cecile Bergart is Hampshire Wine School's Proprietor, Wine Tutor and Champagne Expert. She was born in the Champagne Region of France and now spends every spare minute going through her (very long) list of sparkling wines from around the world, ticking them off one by one and sharing them with us all ... tough job, but someone has to do it?! She not only had her very first drop of Champagne at 4 hours old, but she also trained the food & beverage staff of some of the most prestigious London Hotels and Restaurants, such as Claridge's and The Dorchester, for many years before opening Hampshire Wine School. A life dedicated to wines from an early age! Her passion for wine, beer and everything bubbly is truly contagious, whilst her love for teaching and converting everyone to the beautiful and exciting World of Wines is infectious. Join her for a truly memorable experience and a really fun tasting!
