VIRTUAL 7-week Comparison Course: OLD WORLD vs NEW WORLD BLENDS (ONLINE)
This fascinating ONLINE course will focus on the 7 most popular wine blends in the world.
We shall taste 7 classic blends from the Old World (France, Lebanon, Portugal) and directly compare them against the very best the New World (Australia, South Africa) can offer using the same blend of grapes!
Join us on a Tuesday evening for 7 conscutive weeks as we taste several pairs of wines made from the same varieties of grapes (2 to 4 in a blend), but from different countries. Can you easily tell the difference between a French Cab/Merlot red blend fromBordeaux and an Australian Cab/Merlot from Barossa? By the end of the course you will!
It is only when you taste these wines together that the differences start to stand out, and the comparisons can bring some amazing insights into wine styles.
Your tutor, Cecile Bergart, is a sommelier and a published Champagne and Wine Educator, a guest champagne expert for Champagne World Magazine, for Channel 4 'Superscrimpers', a judge at the International 'Glass of Bubbly' Competition, a regular guest speaker on BBC Radio Solent, as well as being an approved staff educator for Marks and Spencer for which she runs all their in-store tastings throughout the year. She also used to train food & beverage staff at both Claridge's and The Dorchester. She passed the acclaimed Champagne Master-Level Certificate in 2018. Trust us when we say that you will be in good hands!

So, how does it work? Click below to purchase the course (the charge of £79 is per household device - not per person - and for 7 separate online tastings). The wines are to be purchased separately on the Waitrose Cellar website (the full list of 14 wines pre-selected for this particular course will cost you £155.86 if ordered in October - that's only £11.13 per bottle! - or £164.86 if ordered outside of their promotional campaign (still only £11.77 per bottle!) - AND FREE DELIVERY in both instances). There is no pressure to buy the wines, as you can still attend these fun and educational tastings without a glass of wine in hand. I simply recommend buying them as I will be tasting them in depth on the night.
I will then email you the list of pre-selected wines to buy so that you can purchase the accompanying tasting case of 7 wines yourself.
Your Zoom tasting invitation and password will be sent via e-mail at least 2 days prior to each tasting.
On the night, prepare your wines, click the Zoom invitation, relax and enjoy your online wine tasting course!
