Sparkling Wines From Around The World (ONLINE TASTING)
JOIN ME LIVE TO DISCUSS SOME TRULY AMAZING SPARKLING WINES FROM FRANCE, SPAIN, ITALY, NEW ZEALAND, AUSTRALIA, TASMANIA & SOUTH AFRICA!
At these online classes we will be creating a shared tasting experience and educating in our typical fun way with plenty of opportunity to ask questions. All sessions will be recorded and if you can't attend at the last minute just let us know so you can go through the event at your convenience later.
The French arguably make the best sparkling wine in the world – Champagne, but their counterparts in the OLD WORLD, such as Spain and Italy all have their their own sparkling versions. From Champagne, to Cremant, Cava, Prosecco and Franciacorta, Europe is producing some truly stunning examples of both Traditional Method and Charmat Method sparkling wines.
The New World is catching up fast with their own versions too! We will therefore discover what the New World has to offer in comparison (Tasmania, Australia, New Zealand, California, Chile, Argentina, South Africa)!
My name is Cécile Bergart, and as a Champagne Expert (born amongst the vineyards of the Champagne Region, France), I will be discussing the very best bubbles the Old Europe and New World has to offer and will run this tasting in the most entertaining and educational way LIVE via ZOOM!
I am a published Champagne and Wine Educator, a guest champagne expert for Champagne World Magazine and for Channel 4 'SuperScrimpers', a regular guest speaker on BBC Radio Solent, as well as being an approved staff educator for Marks and Spencer. I was the 2014/15 Ruinart Champagne Ambassador in the UK and a judge at the International 'Glass of Bubbly' Competition. I passed my Champagne Master-Level Certificate in August 2018, first time! ;-)
I would recommend buying in advance: 1 bottle of Champagne (Monsigny from Aldi is fab and only £12.99, so no excuses, but do bring a bottle of your fav Champagne House for the occasion!) and 1 bottle of Prosecco (a DOCG instead of a DOC would be preferable) and 1 bottle of Cava (Cordoniu or Frexeinet, but any other winery will do), and opening those wines LIVE with us on the night. Let's bring some sparkling wine fun to your living-room! ;-)
1 ticket will entitle everyone in your household to attend this tasting (no need to buy a ticket per person!).
Since you are joining me from your living-room, you might as well get some nibbles to eat whilst you listen to me and drink alongside your wines, so here are my food & wine pairing recommendations for tonight's selection: If you can get your hands on some fish and chips, then trust me, that is THE very best pairing for both champagne and cava!!!! I know, right?! Otherwise, any egg and pastry-based are super good pairings too (think quiche), so are cheese straws and ready salted crisps.
