Virtual 7-week wine course on lesser known grape varieties (7 ONLINE TASTINGS)

This 7-week virtual wine course is about lesser known grapes that have an amazing ability to astound once tasted.

How many varieties of wine grapes exist in the world today? The answer surprised me too - there are over 10,000 varieties of wine grapes in the world. However, many of these varieties have been developed by using grafting and other methods to produce new hybrids. Very often, certain types of grapes are only popular in certain countries, let alone certain regions. Even then, Jancis Robinson MW revealed that there are over 1,368 vine varieties currently making wine in commercial circulation. But we, consumers, tend to restrict ourselves to the 20 most popular ones.

This is a real pity as many of these lesser known and grown varieties can produce majestic wine and are true to their terroir and climate! This is seen especially in France and the Old World where local grapes will grow well in one village or region but will be a disaster in another village. The local people hold their grape variety close to their hearts and will defend it vigorously, making wine with flair and passion.

This is why I wanted to show you something special in the world of wine ... not your common Sauvignon Blanc or your tried-and-tasted Merlot. Done with Shiraz? Already in love with Malbec and bored with Chardonnay? THIS IS THE COURSE FOR YOU!

I'm here to introduce you to the more unusual but extemely interesting grape varieties that are Gewurztraminer, Carignan, Tannat, Viognier, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Gris/Pinot Grigio and Camenere. Heard of them? Drunk some in a blend but never on their own? Then, you're in for a treat as I will present some fabulous wines made out of these less known grape varieties (1 wine per evening tasting, and 2 on the Pinot Gris/Pinot Grigio week).

A real eye-opening experience for your tastebuds ... and who knows, you might even discover a new passion for the quirky amongst grapes. Give Cabernet Sauvignon the boot, go on, I dare you! ;-)

Please note that each tasting shall start at the new time of 7.30pm and recorded so that if you ever miss a week, you can easily catch up with the recording in your own time. This is the new way to enjoy wine, LIVE, interactive and all in the comfort of your own home!

So, how does it work? Click below to purchase the course (the charge of £75 is per household device and for 7 online tastings).
